Mission Statement

Helping to Rewrite the Future of Lung Cancer

Project Breathing Hope is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving lung cancer outcomes by advancing research, education, early screening and treatment. Project Breathing Hope was founded by anesthesiologist Jennifer Cipriani, M.D. and her husband Matthew Cipriani. Jennifer has metastatic EGFR-sensitizing non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma.

Project Breathing Hope will:

  • EDUCATE
Educate the public about lung cancer with the goal of erasing the stigma and reforming the biases associated with lung cancer.
  • INCREASE AWARENESS
Increase awareness of the dangerous reality that lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of both men and women in the U.S., yet receives a disproportionately low share of federal funding.
  • RAISE AWARENESS
Increase public awareness of the burden and cost of lung cancer to society.
  • CONTRIBUTE
Raise funds, through charitable contributions, for research seeking innovative, effective treatment options for lung cancer to help ensure that the right patients receive the right medication at the right time.
  • SHARE
Share lung cancer patient stories with other foundations that fund cancer research with the goal of encouraging these organizations to appropriate a more proportionate share of their overall funding to lung cancer.

Through these efforts and others, Project Breathing Hope will help to turn this devastating and terminal disease into a chronic and manageable one. It is our mission to Help to Rewrite the Future of Lung Cancer.
